Mission

To educate, inform, represent, serve and provide networking opportunities for manufacturers and distributors who specialize in providing tools and equipment needed to perform repair and maintenance in the motor vehicle aftermarket.



Who are Tool & Equipment members?

TOOL members are aftermarket professionals including manufacturers, manufacturers’ representatives, warehouse distributors, wholesalers, business services and trade publications who focus on tools and equipment used in vehicle repair and maintenance.

What can the Tool & Equipment Segment offer my company?


  • Market Intelligence

    Tool & Equipment presents two industry analysis of current and future purchasing decisions of professionals who utilize shop equipment for automotive repair. In addition to the analysis of their purchasing habits, this report further analyzes the differences between their personal and repair shop purchases. The newest publications are the following:

     

    Industry Indicators Report: A statistical compilation of key variables gathered from government sources and independent research suppliers every month, which is compared to the same month of the previous year, and identifies the impact to business as favorable, unfavorable or indeterminate.  The report provides insight to key indicators affecting the aftermarket industry.


    Digital Aftermarket Factbook:Tool members receive an annual complimentary copy which contains a comprehensive overview of the entire aftermarket.

  • Networking opportunities 
    Leadership Days: The Tool segment meets at AAIA Leadership Days twice a year to help plan activities and events for the segment.  Members have a chance to network with industry leaders and discuss important issues affecting the Tool & Equipment sector, car care professionals and the aftermarket community at large.

    AAPEX: Tool members receive a drastically reduced exhibitor booth price, complimentary access to the AAIA Member Center, and numerous education sessions, receptions and AAIA Town Hall.

  •  Health insurance program
    AAHIP:The Automotive Aftermarket Health Insurance Program is a national network of state and regional automotive aftermarket trade associations who are prepared to simplify insurance making decisions.

  • Industry representation before state and federal governments 
    Defending the Aftermarket: AAIA is often the only national organization defending the interests of the aftermarket and protecting our right to conduct business.

  • Technology standards
    The Product Information Exchange Standard (PIES): is the best practice for the management and exchange of product attribute information in the vehicle aftermarket industry. Standardizing product content lowers supply chain costs and contributes to increased sales and operational efficiencies. Following an industry standard is the first step towards data synchronization with channel partners which yields increased sales, shorter new product introduction cycles and lower operating costs through reduced order processing, invoicing and shipping errors.

 

Tool & Equipment at AAPEX
The Tool & Equipment Lounge, sponsored by Professional Tool & Equipment News magazine, is a perfect break during AAPEX. Complete with refreshments, the lounge offers a place to sit to rejuvenate, provide access to the latest information on tools and equipment and provide a place to meet one-on-one with manufacturers and colleagues.

Tool & Equipment suppliers have the opportunity to exhibit in the tool & equipment section of the AAPEX show located in a sought after section. This great location provides buyers the latest information on tools and equipment needed to increase efficiency in the shop.


AAIA Knowledge Center
