History
The Engine Repower Council (ERC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating consumers about the economic and environmental benefits of rebuilt and remanufactured engines.
ERC was formed in 1999 by a group of automotive industry leaders in response to a growing concern among professional engine rebuilders that most consumers do not know about the benefits of rebuilt engines. These concerns were supported when a motorist survey discovered that nearly 74% of consumers were not aware of this alternative. In 2003 ERC became a segment of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).
ERC is described as “an industry alliance for consumer awareness”, but it is also active in promoting economic and ecologically intelligent solutions to problems associated with major engine damage and/or failure.
ERC members are aftermarket industry professionals including parts manufacturers, warehouse distributors, machine shop owners, engine rebuilders and installers who are working together to make long term vehicle ownership an attractive, economic reality.
Why Should I Join AAIA's Engine Repower Segment?
When you join AAIA's Engine Repower segment, you’ll be joining with a group of aftermarket industry leaders to help educate motorists about the economic and environmental benefits of installing a rebuilt engine. Your dues will help support this industry effort to communicate and promote the repower concept in Canada and the United States.
Once you join, you’ll receive all the usual AAIA member benefits, as well as ERC's monthly newsletter.
