Click here for the Medium Duty Model Name Change guide. The file lists the existing Vehicle records with the current ID and the corrected values. The new IDs will be assigned during production in April
January Update – The January 2010 Release was published on January 29
- VCDB attributes for the Mexico vehicles have been fully populated. U/K values have been replaced for Bed Config, Body Code, Body Style, Brake, Drive Type, Spring, Steering, Transmission and Wheelbase. Missing Engine applications have also been populated.
- 52 Canadian Vehicles covering model years 1998-2007 were added for the following makes: Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Hummer, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Porsche and Toyota. This completes the population of missing Canadian vehicle applications for 1998-2007.
- The 2002-2003 Mazda MPV submodels have been corrected. The old submodels EX and LS were invalid. The correct submodels are now ES and LX. This affects 8 Vehicles and 4 Legacy Vehicles.
Monthly Updates – AAIA updates the Legacy Make/Model (MM) table and the Vehicle Configuration Database (VCdb) monthly. Subscribers may logon to the ACES Interface at www.enhancedstandard.com and select Download to get the format and file of their choice. The VCdb is published in ASCII, Access 97, SQL and PostgreSQL. For information about subscribing to the AAIA vehicle database visit www.aftermarket.org/aces .
ACES Version 3.0 Release – The ACES version 3.0 documentation packet has been published in general release and is found online at www.aftermarket.org/technology/aces. ACES version 3.0 introduces support for sending application images and other digital assets as part of an ACES XML file. The Vehicle Configuration database schema and related documentation has also been updated to reflect the addition of Power Output and Vehicle Type Group in the design. The ACES data delivery XML has been made backwards compatible with version 2.0.
Changes to the ACES Web Interface - The recent additions of Other Motive applications have added a large number of Make names and Model names to the VCdb. The Vehicle Type Group and Vehicle Type drop-down filters have been moved above Make and Model sections. This reduces the number of Makes and Models that the user has to scroll through when using the Vehicle Filter.
PCdb Update - The most recent Parts Classification Database (PCdb) reflects 72 total changes. 42 new Parts we added with 46 valid Positions between them. 26 Positions were added to existing Part Terminology records.
Online ACES Training is Available – AAIA has produced online implementation training for ACES and PIES in conjunction with the University of the Aftermarket. On Demand chapters are available for $49 each from the University’s web site: www.northwood.edu/aftermarket/ondemand . Chapters include a range of topics from basics to more advanced.
Executive Overview Video – AAIA has also produced a 30-minute video that addresses the business case and benefits associated with adopting the industry standards for catalog and product information. The presentation speaks to business people in non-technical terms about the factors driving the need for more electronic data and the ROI found in practicing the industry standards. The video is available at no cost and is found at www.aftermarket.org/technology
Legacy MM Sunset Date – Remember, the sun is setting on the Legacy Make/Model table. AAIA will discontinue support for the MM table in December 2012. All of our resources are being invested in making the VCdb the best vehicle database available. Be sure your data plans include migrating off the MM to the ACES VCdb before the end of 2012
